Existing College Magazine Analysis (LIIAR: Part I+I+R)

The College would be responsible for printing and distributing this.

This magazine doesn’t show very good messages, morals or values for the College in question, because it mentions a girl being 15 and pregnant, which is never a good thing, no matter what the TV show 16 and Pregnant may show us.

It also mentions someone going to hell, and hoping they have beer there, two things that aren’t ever really particularly tied to good images, hell being where Christians believe those who sin go to, and beer being the most common alcoholic beverage, and quite a cheap, maybe conveying that he isn’t the most well off student on campus.

It also says that you should “Avoid Sleeping Your Way to the Top”, which can make people think that the only reason students are getting the grades they are getting, is because they’re sleeping with their teachers, which is always frowned upon, no matter where you go in society: when you go to University, or get a job, it’s still not a good thing.

Salvia is mentioned. A legal recreational drug that, obviously some students are smoking, because if they weren’t, then it wouldn’t be mentioned. Smoking drugs is never good in society, anywhere you go.
And finally, the model is wearing quite short shorts, which ties into the sleeping around coverline, as short shorts are stereotypically tied into girls who sleep around a lot, e.g. cheerleaders. The way she has her hair as well, also ties into the theme of being popular/sleeping around a lot.
